SHAPE: "D"- Shaped Oval WIDTH: Constant 60-foot width with 10-foot apron BANKING: 14 Degrees in turns, 8 degrees at starting line, 2 degrees on 860 - foot back straightaway, Front Stretch is 1290 feet. PIT ROAD: 64-foot width with 40 pit stalls 28' x 19' SEATING: 94,030 permanent contoured aluminum grandstand seats, with seat backs, 1,890 luxury V.I.P. seats in 34 skybox suites totaling 95,920. 600+ acres of parking. MEDIA: Infield media center with two darkrooms. TV/Radio interview facilities & deadline filing room. Press Box for deadline writers located above Veranda grandstand & suite complex at Turn #1. 5 infield photo towers, 2 photo positions on Veranda roof. LOCATION: Near intersections of Interstates 95 & 64, in Henrico County, Virginia at Richmond City limits, 602 East Laburnum Ave. HISTORY: Present modern racing facility opened in September, 1988 reconstructed on site of ½ mile track that was paved in 1968. Began hosting dirt races in 1940's. 1st NASCAR Winston Cup race staged in 1953.
